KWAC Camp - May 2010 When I went to KWAC camp in May, my favourite activity would have been the zip wire challenge, I thought it was really fun! In order to do this we had to wear a safety harness to keep us safe and also wore helmets too. Once we did this we were clipped in and told to run up to the top were there was something like a telephone tower that we had to climb. Once we did this we had an instuctor at the top to secure us. Then we stepped off the tiny platform and swung through the air, came back half way back and then past the clipped in wire to the next person.

| Kip on a Ship 27-28 April 2010 On the 27th April 1st Strood Guides, 6th Strood Guides and 8th Strood Guides all went to 'kip on a ship' togeterh for a sleepover. On the first day we got there early and got our beds ready and put our bags on board. Then we went to the London Dungeons, it was quite scary! Afterwards we walked along the River Thames to get to the London Eye. It took a very long time and I started to think that we were lost, but I knew that the Guiders knowe where they they going. I was so relieved when I started to see the London Eye. It was great fun looking over London and it was an experience that I will never forget. On Sunday we had another great day. We explored the ship and then we went on to Tower bridge to see the marathon. It was amazing and I would love to go again!

![]() | Christmas Weekend 4 - 6 December 2009 The 3 Guide Units in the District shared an enjoyable weekend at Paxwood, trying their hands at a variety of different Christmas crafts. After a fabulous traditional Christmas Dinner, the Guides entertained us with a variety of songs, dances and sketches. Not to be outdone by the Guides, the Guiders closed the evening with their own 'party piece'. A huge thanks goes to all the Guiders who gave up their weekend and worked hard to make the weekend such a success.

![]() | "I'm a Guide... Get Me Out of Here" Camp A group of 21 Guides and 7 Guiders from around the District enjoyed a fun packed weekend at Cudham. Not put off by the weather, the girls had a brilliant time. They cooked their own lunch and made cardboard box ovens. They rose to a variety of challenges in the style of 'I'm a celebrity... get me out of here'. They had to rescue stars from the goo - 'baked beans'; followed a blindfold trail; walked through 'maggots' - spaghetti; climbed through the 'spider's web'; negotiated the assault course carrying a cup of water and slid down the water slide. They certainly earned their shower that day! The evening meal was supplemented by the 'bush tucker trial'. Other activities during the weekend included archery and grass sleding. Strong winds and heavy rain battered the camp site during the early hours of the morning, but nothing that tired Guiders and a mallet couldn't sort out. Miraculously we managed to take down all the tents in the dry! Thanks to all you helped to make the weekend such a success!
