Gordon Road School Fayre

Strood Town District has a stall at Gordon Road's school fayre on Saturday 9th July to promote Guiding.  We're looking for some girls to come along and help man the stall for a brief time.  You'll also get to have a wander round the fair too.  See the letter for details if you are able to help.

Congratulations to Tiger Lily

On 1 February Tiger Lily took up the role of our new District Commissioner, as Roo's term of office ended.  We wish her well in her new role.

2010-2010-2010

Over 600 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and Leaders met at Gillingham Football club to see out the Centenary year.  We enjoyed a disco before watching the live link up with Guiding members from around the UK at 2010 on 20th of 10th 2010.  Afterwards we joined 1000's of members up and down the country as we re-newed our Promise and received a special promise badge to commerate this unique event.  A big thank you to all the people involved in organising this huge event.  We all had a fabulous time.

Badge Winner

Congratulations to Brooke, who is the overall winner of the Badge competition for the Centenary Close.  Look out for them at the Finale at Gillingham football stadium.

 Night Hike

17 Guiders, YL's, parents, Guides and Brownies braved the elements on our Night Hike from Cliffe church to the sea wall by Cliffe Pools.  Not put off by the driving rain, Erin made her promise in the dark by the sea wall.

Thanks Giving Service

Congratulations to Amelia, who recently entered a competition to write an article or poem to be read at the Centenary Thanks Giving Service at Rochester Cathedral next summer.  Her entry was one of the ones chosen to be used in the Service.

Well done.

Congratulations!

It's official - Tiger Lily is officially the Assistant of 1st Strood Guides.  She has recently completed her training and gained her Guiders' Qualification.
